Meeting of the International Committee of the FIET Trade Union Solidarity. Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Το πρόγραμμα αλληλεγγύης στα συνδικάτα της Βοσνίας-Ερζεγοβίνης ξεκίνησε αμέσως μετά τη συμφωνία του Dayton, τον Οκτώβρη του 1997, με χρηματοδότηση των Σκανδιναβικών συνδικάτων και στόχο τη δημιουργία συνδικαλιστικών υποδομών στη χώρα, την ενθάρρυνση κοινών συνδικαλιστικών δραστηριοτήτων και τη δημιουργία κοινού δικτύου και δομών και στις δύο κρατικές οντότητες της χώρας. (Ομοσπονδία και Σερβική Δημοκρατία).

Η ΟΤΟΕ που αναπτύσσει ήδη από τις αρχές της δεκαετίας μια αρκετά έντονη δραστηριότητα στα Βαλκάνια ήταν από τα πρώτα συνδικάτα που ανταποκρίθηκαν έμπρακτα στις τεράστιες ανάγκες των εργαζομένων της Βοσνίας-Ερζεγοβίνης τόσο σε υλικό, μέσα και πόρους όσο και σε γνώση και εμπειρία.

Στο σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα που μεσολάβησε από τη δημιουργία του γραφείου της FIET στο Σεράγεβο, η ΟΤΟΕ και το ΙΝΕ/ΟΤΟΕ συμμετείχε και οργάνωσε:

Η FIET και τα Σκανδιναβικά συνδικάτα σε αναγνώριση αυτής της σημαντικής παρουσίας και δραστηριότητας, πρότειναν τη συμμετοχή της ΟΤΟΕ στη Διεθνή Επιτροπή του Προγράμματος στην οποία προεδρεύει ο Πρόεδρος της ΗΚ Νορβηγίας και έχει σαν μέλη αξιωματούχους της FIET και συνδικάτων από τη Δανία, Σουηδία, Νορβηγία, Φινλανδία και Ισλανδία.

Η Διεθνής Επιτροπή συνεδρίασε στο Σεράγεβο την 11/1/99 με τη συμμετοχή του σ. Αριστοτέλη Λάκκα, Προέδρου του ΙΝΕ/ΟΤΟΕ ως εκπροσώπου της ΟΤΟΕ.

Meeting of FIET’ s International Project Committee in Sarajevo

The International Project Committee of the FIET Solidarity Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina met on 11^th January 1999 for the fourth time in Sarajevo to discuss their further engagement in the country that still suffer from the consequences of war.

On the meeting it was agreed that the successful Project, which supports the local Trade Union structures in Finance and Commerce to develop their movement in the process of changes, would continue with full contribution of this partners. It was stressed that the Project became an important partner in the implementation of the civil part of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

On the occasion of this high profile meeting the Committee, consisting of Commerce and Finance Trade Union leaders from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Italy as well as of a representative from the employers associations in Denmark and Norway, Mr. Aristotelis Lakkas, President to the Labour Institute INE/OTOE ( Greek Federation of Bank Employees Unions) was welcomed as a new member of the Committee.

OTOE had already been extremely engaged in the Project during last year. A seminar on new challenges in the bank sector was held in September during two days where bank employees from the whole country of Bih were participating. In October thirty youngsters from BiH were invited for a Youth Seminar in Thessaloniki which was organised by FIET in co-operation with OTOE. That seminar can certainly be regarded as one of the most succesful steps in the Projects Youth work since for the first time young TU representatives from both entities came together participating in a seminar with young colleagues from the whole Balcans.

OTOE underlined its willingless for a further contribution in cooperation with the project partners to support the stability in the region and the improvement of the trade union structures in BiH to become a modern, free and democratic European movement.
